Project “Get new habits!” video

Aim of the project: to promote understanding of the environmental values and the necessary measures in the urban environment to reduce waste generation through informal education methods (games, discussions, practical and creative work) and the awareness of the youth initiative developed on the basis thereof.We were talking about the environment and climate that affects us, as well as the health and natural sciences that are related to each other.

Project tasks:

 * Introduced the young people involved in the project with a waste problem in the world and jointly find solutions to this problem;

 * organized discussions focused on changing daily routines;

 * Organized educational excursions to find out the seriousness of the current problem;

 * Understand the rational use of resources by organizing “recycling” workshops;

 * Organized public event of the project – fleshmobs “Recycle – get new habits”, Daugavpils half marathon “Bigbank skrien Latvia”, and attention of the public to the problem of waste in Daugavpils, Latvia, the World;

 * The event “Clean Games” was organized and the Daugavpils environment, within the framework of the “Liela Talka” event;

*  The public attention was paid to the waste problem in Daugavpils, Latvia, in the World;

 * An informative brochure EKOkit (file attached) was created to educate the surrounding community about everyday habits that would have a more favorable effect on the environment (this material could be used in other projects, to supplement, teach children);

 * The environmental project was organized in accordance with non-formal education methods and involved active young people from Europe.

The age of participants: 17 – 30 years. Partner countries: Serbia, France, Georgia, Latvia. Number of participants: 7 participants representing each country (6+1 leader), together 28 participants.

During the project activities non-formal education methods were used, thus facilitating and improving learning, acquisition of new knowledge.

 

The main result of the project – the experience gained by young people and improved knowledge of environmental issues, changing the everyday habits.
